Our Engagement : July 2011

On July 28th 2011 Dad proposed to Mom! It started out as a perfect day. I had dinner reservations at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, NYC. I also reserved a room overlooking the park as well for us to stay the night. The restaurant was overlooking a beautiful lake in which you can take a gondola boat ride on. That is where I had planned to propose. As we are driving to the restaurant I look over at Manhattan and there is an ugly green dark cloud headed to the city. Sure enough as we park the car, I get a call from the boathouse saying they have to cancel the gondola boat trip because of the storm that’s coming in. After I tried to plead with them to get us out there they couldn’t help me so I called the hotel and told them to prepare the room for the engagement there. We had a beautiful dinner together and a nice romantic walk through the park to the hotel. As we entered the room, I let mommy in first. The bed was full of roses and when she turned around I was on my knee and asked her to marry me!
